Honolulu Advertiser... “Wahiawa's Hope Mayo's "End of the Day." If you're looking to soothe your nerves from traffic, work or just life, this is perfect. Similar to Shelby Lynne. Great voice.”

Honolulu Star Bulletin... “She has one of those interesting, arresting voices that instantly catches the ear - sultry and seductive without sounding like she’s trying to sound that
way.”

Honolulu Weekly...“Taking cues from Norah Jones and Nancy Wilson, End Of The Day is bluesy, slow  burning lounge music primed for moments of introspection. Mayo’s voice, reedy and sinuous, is often used to playfully scolding effect. It’s smoky without sounding weary
- infectiously tuneful.”

Honolulu Magazine... "On debut End of the Day, singer/songwriter Hope Mayo serves up a solid collection of blues-y folk originals. The sound is light and sweet, the lyrics earnest, and Mayo’s voice imparts fizz even to such lines as, “Roses are red, violets are blue; Baby, I just called to say I love you.” It’s all relatively straight forward stuff, but if you dig relaxing tunes in the style of Norah Jones, Mayo is worth checking out. "

Daniel Ho (Grammy award-winning artist/producer)
“I am one of Hope’s biggest fans! She has a way of writing and singing that engages you. So intimate, honest, and sincere. Her songs poetically capture life’s simple truths and her delicate angelic voice tells her story in a way only she can.”

Kenneth Makuakane (Hoku award-winning producer/songwriter)
“If you haven't heard Hope perform, then you haven’t been out much. This woman knocked my socks off the first time I saw her, and she was only doing a solo gig! The music is fresh, the voice is magic, and her delivery is impeccable. Be adventurous, be curious, I promise you will be pleasantly surprised.”

She was a 20 year old college student attending Chaminade University when she was approached by Daniel Ho to help him write what would end up being his first vocal CD, “Finding My Way.” She was known as Sachi Sato then, and went on to write 6 of the 12 tracks featured on that album, and countless others since. But what made that album so significant was that it was the first recording of Hope as a vocalist. She was featured as the lead vocalist on 3 of the tracks, including “I Do which would later be covered by the popular female group Na Leo.

Hope has been penning songs for over a decade now; many of which have been recorded and performed by award-winning musicians. She has quickly become a mainstay in Honolulu’s emerging Chinatown art and music scene, and is considered to be one of Hawaii’s most sought after performing songwriters.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Hope’s musical spectrum is as diverse as the place she calls home. From the sincerest of pop ballads, to an intimate jazz piece, and back around for 12 bars of gutsy soul wrenching blues; her range resonates an authenticity and originality which is hard to come by these days. It's because of this, that Hope has quickly gained the respect of those very musicians who she once idolized.
